Disc golf team making impact on and off the field since 2009

The West Virginia Disc Golf Club has plans of making a run at a national championship at the end of the season, but it’s not only making an impact on the field.
Dating back to 2009, the Mountaineers have been making charitable efforts to give back to the community.
The first thing they did in 2009 was put in a clinic for local elementary school students during recess.
“We brought portable baskets and taught them the basic rules of the games. It was a fun and easy and gave a reason to get kids outside and play,” said Vice President Kevin Anderson.
